Khalid Shah powered to a brilliant century as Bukhatir XI to a massive 246-run victory over DB Schenker in the 10th Al Dhaid T20 Cup 2016/17 at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village. The tournament is organized by Sharjah Cricket Council.

Turning lucky with the coin and choosing to bat first, Bukhatir XI opener Khalid Shah played a scintillating innings as he smashed a 48-ball 112 supported by 10 boundaries and nine sixes.

His partner Hafeez Kalim was also in an equally aggressive form but was unlucky to miss out on his century by nine runs as he blasted 91 from a mere 27 balls. His innings was packed with four hits to the fence and 11 over it. Ajay Kumar (17, 7b, 3×4) and Rameez Abdul Kareem (16,4b, 1×4, 2×4) to further consolidate the innings.

But Usman Mustaq ensured Bukhatir XI crossed the 300-run mark as he smashed a 20-ball 44 not out consisting four fours and two sixes while Sheraz Ahmed hit an unbeaten 27 from just 10 deliveries to ensure Bukhatir XI reached a mammoth 335 for four in 20 overs.

Chasing an impossible target, DB Schenker made a decent opening with openers Hitesh Anchand and Tariq Abbas scoring 25 and 26 respectively but the former consumed a little too many balls as the required runrate shot up. None of the other batsmen could live up to the pressure as DB Schenker were shot out for a meager 89 in just 16.2 overs.

For the winners, Shamroz Khan claimed three wickets while Usman Mustaq picked two.
