Shaiman Anwar fired a superb century as Sharjah Cricket Club powered to the final of the 29th Ramadan Rathath MF Cup 2017, organized by the Sharjah Cricket Club.

Needing 161 runs to win at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Club suffered an early shock when Asif Khan departed for a naught in the second ball of the innings.

But Waqas Ahmed and Shaiman Anwar did not allow the disappointment bother them as they put on an impressive 89 runs for the second wicket in just over six overs.

Waqas Ahmed perished smashing a 18-ball 26 including a boundary and three sixes but Shaiman Anwar continued his assault and ensured he stayed till the end and just managed to reach his century and also get his team past the target in only 13.3 overs.

His 100 not out came from only 43 deliveries smashing a fantastic 11 sixes and six boundaries while Chirag Suri remained unbeaten on 23 from 18 balls supported by two fours and a six.

The duo added an unbroken 75-run for the third wicket as Sharjah Cricket Club achieved 164 for two in the 14th over.

Earlier put in to bat first, Fahad Ansari gave a steady start with a 19-ball 27 containing three fours and two sixes before wickets fell in quick succession.

From 33 for two they slipped to 47 for five and then 74 for seven before a late half century from Umair Ali helped One Stop Tourism post 160 before being all out in 19.5 overs.

Umair Ali faced 26 balls scoring 58 consisting of five boundaries and as many sixes.

For Sharjah Cricket Club, Muhammad Shahzad Manna claimed three wickets while Ahmed Raza and Shaiman Anwar picked two wickets each.
