Ganesh Gaikwad scored an unbeaten century while Fayyaz Ahmed missed it by just four runs as New Medical Centre defeated Bukhatir XI by 20 runs in a high scoring match in the Group B of the One Stop Tourism 43rd Bukhatir Premier League.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, NMC opener Niresh Fernando scored a 20-ball 24 to give his team a steady start. Fayyaz Ahmed and Gaikwad spent almost 25 overs together in the middle as the duo milked a whopping 180-run partnership for the third wicket to ensure NMC were well in control of the game.

Fayyaz Ahmed ran out of luck on 96 from 90 balls including eight boundaries and fives sixes but Gaikwad ensured he remained till the end.

His 107-run ball stay fetched him 122 runs studded with nine hits to the fence and two over it.

Shahbaz Ahmed (20, 19, 2×4, 1×6) and Abid Ali (32, 13b 2×4, 3×6) made significant contributions as NMC posted a brilliant 363 for eight in 50 overs.

For Bukhatir XI, Muhammad Asaf scalped four wickets.

Chasing a big target, Rameez Abdul Kareem and Rameez Shahzad took it upon themselves as the duo quickly put on a superb 99 runs for the third wicket from just around 15 overs.

Abdul Kareem played a cautious knock to score 80 form 84 balls containing seven fours and two sixes while Shahzad showed a lot of aggression hitting 128 from 86 balls laced with seven boundaries and four maximums.

But once the duo fell the other batsmen failed in a bid to increase the runrate and were all out in 343 in 45.4 overs.

Tanveer Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for the winners scalping three wickets while Awais Aftab and Nisar Ahmed claimed two each.
