General Petroleum registered comfortable victory in the Sharjah T20 Summer Cup at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village. Waqas Tariq smashed a fine half century as General Petroleum defeated Emirates Avengers to a 72-run victory. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Sumit Daniya and Waqas Tariq provided a superb century partnership after General Petroleum lost an early wicket. Daniya departed after scoring a steady 36-ball 37 consisting of two fours and a six while Tariq cracked a 54-ball 79 supported by three boundaries and as many sixes as General Petroleum posted 184 for eight in 20 overs.

Ashwin Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for Emirates Avengers claiming three wickets while Vijay Kumar and Vivek Rawat bagged two each. Chasing a tough target, Emirates Avengers ran out of steam with wickets falling at regular intervals. Only Faizan Uddin stayed firm scoring a 44 from 47 deliveries as Emirates Avengers managed only 112 for seven in 19 overs. For the winners, Haroon Malik and Aziz Ansari scalped two wickets each.
