Nasir Aziz shone with the ball as Alubond Tigers powered to the final of the 29th Ramadan Rathath MF Cup 2017, organized by the Sharjah Cricket Club.

At the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Chasing Alubond Tigers’ huge 212 total, Multiplex International failed to keep up the pressure as they lost by a massive 60 runs.

Asked to bat first, Alubond Tigers had a relatively decent start with openers Mohammad Qasim and Wajahat Butt sharing 33 runs for the first wicket.

Wajahat Butt stayed in the middle for only 10 deliveries smashing 22 runs including two boundaries and as many sixes.

Yassir Kaleem who joined Mohammad Qasim milked a 80-run partnership to put Alubond Tigers in a commanding position.

Mohammad Qasim succumbed hitting a 30-ball 41 containing six fours and a six. Rinku Kumar was out the next ball for a duck to put a slight concern in the progress before Amjad Gul joined Yassir Kaleem to take complete control of the match.

The duo shared an unbroken partnership of 99 runs for the fourth wicket as Alubond Tigers posted an impressive 212 for three in 20 overs.

While Yassir Kaleem achieved a 51-ball 77 not out peppered with seven fours and four sixes, Amjad Gul was at his best smashing a superb unbeaten 65 from only 29 deliveries peppered with two hits to the fence and six over it.

Chasing a tough target, Multiplex International suffered an early loss but Sapandeep Singh smashed a 20-ball 35 supported by eight fours to steady the chase. But a few quick wickets again put Multiplex International in a state of bother. Abdul Shakoor (34, 24b, 2×4, 2×6) and Amit Kukreja (24, 21b, 3×6) played their part but could hardly make much difference as they could muster 152 for nine in 20 overs.

Nasir Aziz was the wrecker in chief claiming four wickets giving in 28 runs in his four overs.

Alubond Tigers take on the winners of the other semifinal between One Stop Tourism and Sharjah Club.
