One Stop Tourism defeated Defenders CC by 36 runs via D/L method after the match ended abruptly due to bad weather in the 9th Al Dhaid Gold Cup Tournament 2016/17. The tournament is organized by Sharjah Cricket Council.

Put in to bat first in a 36-over a side match, One Stop Tourism made a strong start with openers Fahad Ansari and Saif Janjwa sharing a quick 47 for the first wicket.

Ansari was the main scorer as he smashed a 32-ball 41 including four boundaries and two sixes while Saif Janjwa hit a 15-ball 10 with the help of a boundary.

The good start meant Muhammad Usman played without any pressure as he blasted his way to a superb half century. He was unlucky to miss out on a century by just five runs as he made 95 off 80 balls peppered with seven boundaries and a six. He was given good company from Muhammad Ikram who also made a patient 44 from 40 laced with three fours and a six.

Ahmed Raza (18) and Umair Ali Khan (12) made useful contributions as One Stop Tourism posted 254 for nine in 36 overs.

Noorul Amin was the pick of the bowlers claiming four wickets while Yasir Mahravi picked two.

In reply, Defenders CC lost a wicket early but Saud Afzal and Sheraz Sarfaraz took control of the proceedings with a 60-run partnership for the second wicket. Afzal departed scoring a 45-ball 43 consisting of four boundaries and two sixes and a while later the match had to be called off due to heavy winds and rain. Sarfaraz remained unbeaten on 21 not out as Defenders CC had made 82 for three in 16.4 overs.

And after the D/L was applied One Stop Tourism won by 36 runs.
