Sealine Defenders and Interglobe Marine secured easy victories in the Sharjah Summer Cup 2017 organized by Sharjah Cricket Club.
At the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sealine Defenders eased past Sewa CC by 75 runs while Interglobe Marine defeated Singh Diesel by seven wickets.
Waseem Rana’s performance was the stand out innings that helped Sealine Defenders post a brilliant 259 for four in 20 overs.
His innings of 107 came off just 41 deliveries peppered with four boundaries and 12 sixes. He and Ashfaq Ahmed (44, 32b, 6×4, 1×6) laid the foundation for Sealine Defenders as the duo added 80 runs for the opening wicket.
Rizwan Amanat chipped in with a 21-ball 46 consisting three fours and four sixes while Mohsin Matto fired a 15-ball 30 not out supported by three boundaries and a six as Sealine Defenders posted a brilliant total.
For Sewa CC, S Tousifur Rahman claimed two wickets but was expensive giving away 53 runs in his four overs.
Chasing a big target, Sewa CC lost two quick wickets but Babar Ghazanfar stood firm as he smashed a 46-ball 92 studded with three hits to the fence and 10 over it.
But with wickets tumbling at the other end Sewa CC managed only 184 for nine in 20 overs.
For the winners, Arslan Rasheed claimed three wickets while Akash Dev Kumar and Mohammad Tauqir two each.
In the other match, Ali Malik claimed four wickets to restrict Singh Diesel to 145 for nine in 20 overs. Burhan Azam top scored with a 32-ball 39 while Asfandyar Khan and Saeed Ahmed chipped in with 20 and 23 not out respectively.
Ali Malik’s spell of four overs saw him give away only 15 runs.
In reply, Touqeer Riyasat hit an unbeaten 71 from just 50 balls with the help of seven boundaries and three sixes while he shared an unbroken 81-run stand for the fourth-wicket with Asim Shaikh, who scored a 19-ball 45 not out supported by three fours and four sixes.
