Sharjah Cricket Club kept their nerves when it mattered as they defeated InterGlobe Marine by five wickets in the Sharjah Summer Cup 2017 organized by Sharjah Cricket Club.

Needing 160 for victory at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Club were on track from the start as openers Asif Khan and Faizan Asif stitch together a brisk 62 inside six overs.

Faizan Asif departs smashing a 18-ball 37 supported by four boundaries and three sixes. Asif Khan also follows suit after an impressive 41 from 38 deliveries containing three fours and two sixes.

Yassir Kaleem (33, 27b, 3×4) and Sami Ullah Younas (25, 25b, 2×4, 1×6) both added 53 runs for the third wicket as Sharjah Cricket Club inched closer to the winning mark.

Both Sami Ullah Younas and Yassir Kaleem fell at crucial juncture before Kashif Daud hammered a 11-ball 17 including three boundaries. But he was run out when Sharjah Cricket Club needed just one run and Junaid Siddiqui achieved it in the last ball as Sharjah Cricket Club scored 160 for five in 20 overs.

Earlier batting first, InterGlobe Marine managed 159 for six in 20 overs after a brilliant partnership from Jawad Ghani and Syam Ramesh who put on 67 runs for the fifth wicket.

Syam Ramesh top scored with a fine 28-ball 44 peppered with five hits to the fence and two over it while Jawad Ghani managed 32 from 23 balls containing three boundaries and a six.

Touqeer Riyasat (32, 23b, 3×4, 1×6) and Dawood Ejaz (17, 16b, 1×6) were the other significant scorers.
