Amjad Ali and Usman Saeed smashed brilliant half centuries to guide UBL to a brilliant six-wicket victory over Bukhatir Group in the 9th Al Dhaid Gold Cup Tournament 2016/17. The tournament is organized by Sharjah Cricket Council.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Bukhatir Group got a decent start with Khalid Shah and Zanal Nazar scoring 20 and 34 respectively.

Nazar scored a sedate knock facing 61 deliveries consisting of a boundary and a six.

Vinu Vijayan faced 35 deliveries to hit 30 consisting of three boundaries before Shad Hamza propelled the total with a splendid 62 off only 51 deliveries. His innings filled with four boundaries and two sixes ensured Bukhatir Group reached 191 for nine in 40 overs.

For UBL, Umar Farooq, Muhammad Shakir and Usman Saeed all claimed two wickets each.

In reply, UBL opener provided a dream start smashing a 93-ball 75. He believed in running between the wickets as his innings consisted of only four boundaries. Babar Hussain supported him well with a fine 25 from 35 deliveries.

But it was Usman Saeed who ensured the team reached the target without any fuss as he hit an impressive unbeaten 60 to ensure UBL reached the target in 37.3 overs.

With the win, UBL ensured they booked a berth in the semifinals.
